There are 3 steps to complete when connecting a credit card terminal.
1. Connecting the Terminal to the Internet.In most cases this Step requires you to use an ethernet cable to hardwire the terminal to the network. If you purchased a wifi enabled device then you would need to configure the wireless settings on the device to connect to your network. However, most ingenico models are set up to be connected to a network switch using a standard ethernet cable. Note: do not plug the Terminal into the computer. Find a free port in your network to plug the terminal in. When you have successfully connected the Terminal to the Internet, the terminal will display on the screen a message that says Connected.

2. Adding the terminal to the POS.To complete this step login to HTPOS and then go to Settings > POS Device Settings > Manage Devices.
Select Credit Card Device and then Select CardPointe Integrated Terminal.
Enter a name and description for the device and then Select Brand: Ingenico.
Lastly Select the Serial number from the Drop Down list that matches the number on the physical card device screen and Click the Button "Add Credit Card Device"
3. Linking the Terminal to a Computer
The terminal can only be linked to one terminal at a time. From the terminal you would like to link the CC terminal to, go to Settings > POS Device Settings > Configure > Link A Device
Make sure you have the terminal you would like to link the CC terminal to selected. It should default to the computer you are currently using. Then select the options of Credit Card Device & Credit Transaction and select the device name you configured in Step 2 above. Hit Save Link.
Logoff and log back in and then go to the POS and try to create a transaction using the terminal. If the terminal is working you will see the amount get passed to the terminal when attempting to complete the transaction. Hit the red button on the terminal to cancel the transaction.
Terminal Hardware Settings
In some rare cases like in the case you have a Wifi based CC Terminal you will need to enter a password to set the Wifi Credentials. The password is “CCMerchant”.
Advanced Networking Solutions
If you don’t have any available hardware ethernet ports available for your credit card terminal then below are some options that you can consider based on your network setup.

Add a Network Switch
If you have a hardwire ethernet connection already for your computer or near the terminal, but there are not any more free ports, simply order an unmanaged 5 or 8 port ethernet switch like the one of these TP-Link or Netgear, or comparable. These run between $10 and $15 on amazon.
Take the ethernet cable connection and plug into the switch. You will now have 4 or 7 new available ports to add devices including printers and credit card terminals.

Deploy a Wireless Access Point
This solution would be used when you have wifi infrastructure setup for your network connectivity and you do not have any hardware ethernet connections available. Purchase a Wireless Access Point like one of the ones below and this will allow you to create a wired network infrastructure using the Access Point. The access point can be used standalone for a single device, or can be combined with a Switch as described in Option 1 above to create multiple hardwire connections for additional devices.
Some Device options would include TP-link AC1200 (~$35) or TP-WA801 (~$20)

Bridge the Wifi connection on your computer to the Computers Ethernet Adapter
This option can be utilized if you have a windows computer that you will be connecting to the CC Terminal and that computer is using a wifi connection to connect to the internet and has an open Ethernet adapter. This Option is only suggested as a last resort or temporary fix. This solution tends to be less reliable and can break very easily with user error or windows updates. We highly recommend using option 2 over this solution.
This solution requires you to configure your windows networking settings to bridge the wifi and ethernet connections together effectively sharing your computers wifi connection with the terminal over the ethernet port. The video below will explain how to configure windows. Then you would plug your CC terminal to the back of your computer to gain connectivity.
