How do I set up an Epson Printer and Cash Drawer?

High Trek POS supports Epson Printers and allows for compatible cash drawers to pop open upon receipt printing.

 Epson Printer Setup Instructions
  1. For network printers install: https://ftp.epson.com/drivers/ECPSU_1.41.exe

2. Install Microsoft Point Of Service for .Net Runtime Components

3. Install the OPOS.Net Drivers as a User

○ Run setup

○ Select “User” as install type click next

○ Select communication port (typically USB will be used) 4. Use the Espon drivers to setup your devices

○ Open Windows -> Start -> All Programs -> EPSON OPOS for .NET -> SetupPOS

○ If you do not see your device in the left window

i. Click Add and proceed through the setup steps to add the PRINTER

device via USB port ii. Ensure you note your Logical Device Name for use later

○ Your device may have been installed automatically via the Epson driver install. If so you will see the device listed under EPSON -> PosPrinter

i. Click on it and edit it's Logical Device Name (Note this name as you will

need it to register the device with our software)

○ SAVE CHANGES 4. Check the health of your installed device

○ In the same EPSON utility right click on your pos printer and select "Check Health"

○ A dialog will open, Click Print and then Close

○ A healthy printer should say "Complete". If there is an error check the message and ensure your setup is correct. 5. Register your newly installed printer within the Alpha Goat Software

○ Logon to alphagoat.com as an admin and navigate to Settings --> POS Device Settings --> Add New Device

○ Follow the on screen steps for an OPOS Printer


Cash Drawer

Add > Device Category = Cash Drawer

All the remaining settings are defaults. Next

Port > select the same port as the printer. Next

Device Details > Select your printer model number and keep the defaults

SAVE.


Check Health


If you get an error try enabling the Compatibility OPOS.NET Version1.9 Checkbox
