How do I create a Gift Voucher or punchcard visit option

High Trek has a gift voucher set process that enables customers to purchase a code or gift a code to redeem and make a reservation at a later date.  You can also create and sell voucher packs or digital punch cards that allow multiple uses.

Creating vouchers is a three step process. It is best to create them in reverse order of the buy cycle. First create the redemption product, next the middle template, and last, the original voucher product that is to be purchased. This feature will allow you to create single use or multiple use Passes and Voucher Packs.

Step 1 - Create a Redemption product Sku a. Add the item or items to bundle by checking the “Product is a Bundled Item” checkbox and adding the product and appropriate pack quantity for the pass / voucher you are creating.
b. Check “Product Requires a Voucher Code For Purchase”.
c. Repeat creating the redemption skus for all similar voucher packs (similar expiration specs, use, voucher code prefix)
d. Save the product
Step 2 - Create templates (link at the bottom of the product page)
a. Give a name that allows you to identify restrictions later.
b. Select expiration date, # of days such as 365, or never expires.
c. Is it a one time use or multiple uses?
d. Link redemption products up to the template.
Step 3 - Create the Voucher Pack Product with Retail Pricing
a. Does not have events or bundles (don’t check these)
b. Set the retail price you want to sell the voucher for.
c. Make sure to check Auto Generate Vouchers before saving the product (located near the bottom of the page).
d. Select the corresponding template that you created on step “b” above.

Testing - After creating your voucher set, you may want to submit a "no charge" order using a discount code. Make sure you get the email and review it to make sure it provides a voucher code. Try redeeming it via the automated "redeem now" link that populates the voucher code for you and pulls up the corresponding redemption product(s). Also, try manually redeeming by copying the voucher code and browse your shopping cart for the redeem voucher category and paste in the code to see if it works. If you don't see the redeem voucher category, you may need to turn on this feature in the POS by navigating to carts.

Online customers can redeem their vouchers through the redemption portion of the shopping cart. If they accidentally put their voucher in the promo code field of the cart,
the system will now accept the code if the correct item is in the shopping cart or it will refer the customer to the redemption portion of the shopping cart.
